Certified Electrician
The basic function of the Certified Electrician is to install, repair, maintain and test commercial and industrial electrical systems. Installing new electrical systems and repairing existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with nationals, state, and local electrical codes along with LTS policies and procedures. Provide technical expertise in installing and troubleshooting electrical wiring and equipment. Work cooperatively with the Foreman and/or customer during the installation of the project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold current State of California General Electrician Certification
A minimum of two to five years of experience working as an electrician on commercial or industrial projects.
Solid understanding of the electrical codes and installation methods
Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting electrical plans and specifications
Well-Versed in the installation of power systems, lighting and lighting control systems,nLight Lutron, WattStopper Lighting Controls a plus
Knowledgeable regarding the layout, installation, and operation of lighting control
Experience in utilizing Electrical Single Line Blueprints
Experience in verifying the compliance and functionality of power and lighting control system installations
Experience assisting Foreman with management of a project and crew very helpful
Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installations
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the Foreman and crew members
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to lift 50lbs from the ground level and pull 50lbs of force
Perform ladder climbing, wire pulling, and conduit lifting
Fully squat, stoop or knell while wearing a 25lb tool belt
Maintain a standing position for long periods of time while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires
Work off ladders, scaffold, man lifts or boom lifts
While performing duties of the job, the employee may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions including cold, rain, heat, etc., and high noise levels
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
This position reports to the Foreman
The following positions report to this position: Apprentice, Laborers
AUTHORITIES:
The Electrician has the authority to direct Apprentices during the installation of power systems and to stop any work being performed in an unsafe manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Electrician is responsible for performing the duties of this position
Responsible to install, repair, maintain and test electrical as assigned
Responsible for ensuring all work is performed in safe, efficient and timely manner
Responsible for ensuring all work performed meets with the NEC, state, Country, and local codes
Responsible to report for work on time and minimize tardiness and absences
Responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy work space and ensuring the proper safety equipment is worn while working
Responsible to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and courtesy while interacting with colleagues, customers and vendors
Performing all of the duties of this position and others as assigned in a timely and efficient manner
